The challenges
For MYLO, we have designed a set of challenging projects that we hope will tap into learners' research, design and technical skills, and get them thinking creatively within another language. We believe in motivating learners by creating an absorbing online scenario and setting a suitable creative task where they will really have something to say. For example, they can help Joseph Osant the Greatest Chef in all of Montréal create a new festival menu. Jay Redfern needs expertise to create a new computer game character, so that her Scottish company can break into the Hispanic market.
'Challenges' cover National Curriculum levels 4 – 8 (Chinese 4 – 6). Each one covers two levels, although you may choose to use them at a wider range of levels as learners will need to use a broad range of language to complete each task.
We hope the materials we have developed will fit well with many courses at KS3 and KS4, but for this section, we have picked out the 'best' matches. Click on a language option below to find out more.
