'MYLO Create' is the online tool that allows you to create your project for a 'Challenge'. Click on the 'Begin the challenge' option when you are ready to start. You will be able to use 'MYLO Create' even if you haven't registered. However you won't be able to save any of your work if you don't have an account. Therefore 'MYLO' will prompt you to 'Sign in' if you haven't already done so.

The Brief

The introduction pages within 'MYLO Create' display the details of the task set by your contact and also some of the texts and audios you used in the activities. Read the brief carefully to make sure you pick up on everything you need to do to create a great project. You can access the brief at any time by clicking on 'The brief' option.

When you are ready, click on the 'OK LET'S CREATE' option to begin editing your project.

Managing pages

When you open 'MYLO Create', the first screen is a thumbnail view of the pages within the project. One page has already been set up for you to edit. You can choose to add more pages by clicking on the 'Add page' option. You can change the background on the pages by clicking on the 'Change background' icon. If you want to add something to a page then click on the 'Edit page' option.

Once you are in editing a page mode, you will be able to access the toolbar and use the 'Next page' and 'Previous page' options to move between the pages you are editing.

Editing pages

As well as changing the background of each page, you can add text, images and audio to different areas of the page. To define the area you want to work in, use your mouse to draw a rectangle onto the grid for the page. Once you have defined an area, click on the 'Image', 'Text' or 'Audio' icons to start adding your content. You are not restricted to having just one type of content in the rectangle you are working on - you can add text, images and audio to the same area.

Images

For images, you can choose from a selection that MYLO has provided or use the 'Import' option to upload your own. You can resize the images by clicking on the 'Resize' icon and using the slider to adjust the size. You can position the image within the area defined and you can change the background colour or the rectangle by using the 'Fill' tool.

Text

When adding text you can format it by choosing the font, style, point size and colour as well as aligning it in the area that you have defined.

Audio

You can record audio directly into the tool if your computer has a microphone. Just click the record button to get started. You can create multiple tracks and add scripts if you need them.

Saving and submitting

When you have created your pages, you can 'Preview' your work. When you are happy with all of your content then you can 'Submit' it so that your teacher can review it. You will be prompted to 'Review your work'. This is a checklist to remind you of all the things you should have tried to include in your project. It's a good idea to go through each one.

Alternatives

If you want to create your project in another piece of software away from MYLO, then you can download the image resources for the project and use them however you like. Click on the 'Download project assets' option on the module homepage.

If you make your project roughly the same dimensions as the 'MYLO Create' canvas (970pixels x 500pixels) and then save it as a jpeg, you can upload it as a page background so that you can still share your work with others.
